Frederick A Stanley

Frederick “Fred” Ashton Stanley of Katy, Texas passed away July 3, 2015. Fred was born October 23, 1935 in Orange, Virginia. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 58 years, Sylvia Maxine Stanley, son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Sue Stanley, son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Sarah Stanley, daughter and son-in-law, Deirdra and Ronnie Wine, eleven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Fred is predeceased by his eldest daughter, Terry O’Keefe.

Fred is one of seven children, survived by his sisters, Eloise Lillard, Lois Grantham and Linda Kerns, and brothers, Doug Stanley and John Stanley. He is predeceased by his parents, Ralph Stanley and Viola Ladd, and brother, Ralph “Duke” Stanley.

Fred was a loving husband and father. He thrived during his years in the construction industry exuding an exceptional work ethic, which he instilled in each of his children. Fred loved to play as hard as he worked enjoying activities such as hunting, bowling and clogging with family and friends.

Fred, also known as Dad, Daddy, and most endearing, Papa, was a strong yet kind individual whose company will be missed, but forever and always be present in our hearts and minds.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
