Frank (Paco) was proud of and enjoyed his Hispanic heritage in both work and play. He believed in helping to promote the advancement of Latinos or “Chicanos” as he would say. At the I.L.A. 24 (International Longshoreman’s Association 24) he worked with other Hispanics to form the Hispanic Longshoreman Association. Their main goal was to try to increase the number of Latinos in the Longshoreman’s union. Frank enjoyed bowling for many years and was a member of the Latin Bowlers Club traveling all over Texas to participate in tournaments. Frank was also one of the first Hispanics to become a licensed Master Plumber in the city of Houston.
Frank is survived by three brothers Mike, Daniel, Ben and one sister, Socorro. He is also survived by four daughters Mary Stella, Gloria, Celia and Susanna as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Of all his grandchildren Juan J. Cantu, his grandson, was his favorite. He loved him like a son doing what he could to mentor him as he began his career with the Port of Houston. He tried to teach him everything he knew about life and the responsibilities of Manhood. In his last days of life when he was in ICU Frank introduced Jay(Juan) to the doctor as “his son”.
Frank did the best he could to provide for his family we will miss him very much.
Rest In Peace Paco Your Time Has Come No More Suffering. May You Find Peace, Love And Happiness With The Lord Almighty.
