Frances Jane Williams

She was a beautiful little girl, with long curls and grew into a beautiful lady. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Houston, Texas, and attended Massey Business College. She had a long successful career as a legal secretary, starting out in a 1 girl/1 attorney office, then moving on to one of Houston’s largest law firms, Fulbright, Crooker, Freeman, Bates & Jaworski.

Frances Jane was also known as FJ, a nickname bestowed on her by a cousin in East Texas. She was a happy person, with a beautiful smile. She loved to study her Bible and to read. She also loved decorating and that was reflected in her home.

Her first marriage did not take, but it produced a loving son, Shannon Gregory Ferguson. She had a very successful marriage to Cecil Williams, who loved Frances Jane and Shannon.

Following a stroke and other medical problems, Cecil retired and became a very diligent and loving caregiver to Frances Jane. Following his death in June of 2014, Shannon lovingly assumed that role. He cared for her in his home as long as possible. Even after he had to relinquish that role, he continued to faithfully visit her and take her special foods on a very regular basis.

She is predeceased by both her parents and by her husband, Cecil. She leaves behind her son, Shannon, and many cousins who loved her. But we are secure in the knowledge that she is with our Lord, walking streets of gold in a glorified body.

A visitation for Frances will be held Monday, December 27, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023, followed by a funeral service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
