He is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Grace Newman.
He is survived by son, Dr. Paul Newman and wife Jayne; grandson, Jason and wife Maria; great-grandchildren, Jalen and Corey; great-step son, Brad; sister, Beverly Akin; niece, Nancy and husband, Jimmy Nelson; great-niece, Jacquelyn; brother, Frank and nephew Bobby Newman .
Jack was a great outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a 4th generation cattle raiser. Jack was a 32nd degree Mason and a great admirer of the fine arts. For over 60 years, he was a practicing trial attorney and a lifelong conservationist. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held from 5pm-8pm on Friday, April 8, 2011 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home.
Funeral service will begin at 2:30pm on Saturday, April 9, 2011 in the Chapel of Angels of Forest Park Lawndale.
