Eva Sahib Rogers (Bullitt), 63, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on October 17 in Cypress, Texas surrounded by her family.
Eva was born in Pittsburgh, PA to Nettie and Hueston Bullitt on July 12, 1958. As a young girl she was always determined and a creative. As an older and younger sister, she showed right away her phenomenal leadership skills. She grew up in a family with 11 other siblings who loved playing cards and games, spending time together, and inspiring one another. Eva enjoyed spending time with her husband, her grandchildren, and being intellectually challenged.
In 1974, Eva met Charles Rogers Sr. who quickly became the love of her life. In no time, they began building their loving family of 5 children, who later began building their own loving families.
Throughout the years, Eva remained committed to growing intellectually and obtained her associates degree in Business Administration from Wheeler Business in Pittsburgh, PA and worked towards her Bachelor of Science in elementary education at the University of Phoenix online. She later completed Rhema Bible School at Word of Faith Christian Center. She believed ministry went far beyond the walls of the church and strived to impact people’s lives in her daily walk. She worked for years inspiring others to press past failures and into their God-given purpose. Some of those inspirations are found in her book, Catch The Seven.
Alongside her living husband, Charles Rogers Sr., Eva was fully committed to furthering God’s Kingdom and helping others find their purpose. For several years, Eva served in children’s church ministering to children and families. Eva and Charles were committed members to Word of Faith Christian Center for over a decade. As a woman after God’s own heart, Eva poured her heart into the serving at church, and helping to build the body of Christ and shape her surrounding community. No matter the location, Eva was known as a gifted writer, true worshipper, prayer warrior, and a woman truly on fire for the things of God.
Most recently, Eva worked for Katy Independent School District where she served as a Special Education Para-Professional. Eva was dedicated to living her best life every day and enjoyed spending time with her family, writing, reading, listening and dancing to music, and pouring into other people. She also enjoyed laughing, getting dolled up in makeup with her daughter, beating intellectual challenges like Scrabble and Sudoku, and catching up via text and/or FaceTime with her family in Michigan and Pittsburgh. Above all else, she loved falling deeper in love every day with her husband Charles, while living for God in an authentic way.
