He grew up and was educated in the Spaulding School District and was a graduate of Southside High School.
After graduating, Eugene served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from November 3, 1965 – October 11, 1967.
He then moved to Houston and after some time he began to miss his family. He returned home for 4 years before making his arrival back to Houston in 1976.
On July 13, 2003, he became a member of New Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor David L. Smith where he served faithfully as the Pastor’s Amour Bearer.
January 21, 2014, he married Vivian Taylor Forch, to whom he was a faithful husband unto death.
Eugene was employed 17 years at Union Tank Car Co. as a machinist. Later he worked for Chevron Building Securitas Security as a security guard.
Preceding him in death was his parents William Davis, mother Queen Davis, brother, Luther Davis, and sister, Delia David.
To cherish his memories, he leaves a devoted wife Vivian, sister Minnie Davis, brother James Davis (Farry Yvonne), daughter Tamika Davis (Christopher Brown), grandchildren Nathaniel and Isabella, step children Tamara Pleasant, Dr. Tory Taylor (Robert Taylor), Chris Taylor (Gloria Taylor), Vivian Villagomez (Alvin King) and Robert (Jonta) Villagomez (Pamela Villagomez), other nieces, nephews, cousins, and his extended family the New Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church.
