Esteban Lopez was born in Galveston, Texas on August 3rd, 1925. After losing his Mother at the age of four, he and his brothers went with their father to Rodriguez, Tamaulipas to live on a ranch. He strived for more and earned work in Laredo, TX. He was working a construction job next door to the home of who would be the Love of his Life for 69 years, Mary Eva Guerrero. Antonio Guerrero, Mary’s Father, invited Esteban and a co-worker for coffee and Love was found when he met Mary Eva. Esteban and “Bunch”, as he would call her, created a kind and loving legacy. They attended All Saints Catholic Church in Hammond, IN. Esteban, still striving for more, sought and obtained work in East Chicago, IN at what was formerly known as Inland Steel. He worked there 39 years +, raising a family of seven children in Hammond, IN. Every year the family commuted for the summer vacation to Laredo, TX. Esteban was a dedicated Husband, Father, Grand Father and Son in Law. He was loved by all who knew him. While still working, he was a self-made carpenter/handyman building additions to his home. He helped raise grandchildren while in IN and after he retired commuting to Clinton, TN. Once both he and his wife were retired, they returned to Laredo, TX to care for his in laws, as a Good Catholic would do, to honor thy Father and Mother. Esteban and Mary completed their mission in Laredo, TX, laying both of Mary’s parents to eternal rest and then moved closer to their children, living in Frisco, TX from 2005 to 2009 and then in Clinton, TN from 2009 to 2018. It was time for their favor to be returned, when Esteban and Mary went to live with their son Robert, in Frisco, TX in October, 2018. Esteban, was an avid baseball fan, enjoyed listening to Mariachi Bands at a local restaurant, riding in the car to and from Doctors visits, amazed at the traffic, playing Loteria (Mexican Bingo) and listing to Ranchera Music (Mexican Country Music) daily. Esteban was peacefully received by our Lord on May 20, 2020, with loved ones at his side. Esteban’s smile, laughter and appreciative manner will be greatly missed by all.
