Ernestina Esparza, 74, passed away on October 28, 2017 in Lubbock, Tx. She was born December 27, 1942 El Salvador. Ernestina is preceded in death by her husband, Bartolo Esparza, along with her sisters, Corina and Bertha.
She leaves behind daughters, Nidia Santana(Jesse), Rebecca Esparza, Georgia McDonald(Isaac) and Lupe Moreno(Joe), and sons, Mark Esparza(Ashley) and Albert Esparza(Rosie), grandchildren Christine Aguirre, Christopher Santana, Stephen Santana, Amari Esparza, Ava Esparza and Major Esparza. She also leaves behind a great-grandchild, Zoey Santana, along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Ernestina always had a heart of service. She retired in December 2007 after 23 years of service with North Forest ISD as a bus driver. A seamstress by trade, Ernestina established a host of friendships doing alterations and saving the day for many individuals. She always had a smile on her face and welcomed all into her home with open arms. Ernestina was a very strong and courageous woman with extraordinary faith. Even in her last months of life, she remained faithful and never lost her sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all whose lives she touched.
Visitation for family and friends will begin on Friday, November 3, 2017 from 5pm-8pm at Brookside Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 beginning at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 10500 Nold Dr. Houston, Texas 77016. Interment to follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
