She is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Maria Reyes, sister, Alice, and brothers, Richard and Robert. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Cynthia Alderete, Debra Phelan (Joe) and Veronica Alderete (Paul), as well as, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
Ellen was a devoted mother who loved her family immensely. She was a woman of strength, independence and grace. She loved music, dancing, crafts, baking and traveling. Ellen received her nursing license from Hermann Hospital in 1965 and dedicated 45 years to caring for her patients. She proudly carried many roles throughout her lifetime: mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, friend and confidant. She inspired, motivated and encouraged not only family, but friends.
Ellen was a true matriarch who will be dearly missed by all. Rest in peace mom. We love you always.
