I knew Liz Meyers when I was a little girl in the 1950's.  She was a friend of my aunt and I got to see her fairly often.  To me she was like a movie star.  We called her "Big Liz" because my aunt was petite and also named Elizabeth.  Big Liz was always thinking of others and frequently gave me presents - nothing big but things that I treasured and still have.  While preparing to move into a retirement home I came across several post cards that she sent to me from NYC in 1960,   She shared her excitement of seeing celebrities like Arlene Frances and Jackie Gleason and eating at Sardi's.   I will always remember her with affection for the fun she brought to my otherwise staid existence.   I wish that I had been able to know her longer.  She was a force of Nature as they say.  Kind, beautiful, and always fun to be around.  She has been, and always will be, missed.  
Thanks to her family for sharing the photos of Liz.  She was so lovely.

I have many fond memories of Liz and Art. They were a kind and loving couple whose enjoyment of life transformed those around them.

I've loved Liz and Art for over 40 years plus I had the opportunity to read the guest book with everyone's thoughtful comments.  Liz was one of a kind as was Art.  They were loving folks that never met a stranger or failed to meet the challenge of the day. Liz was a wonderful lady that never failed her friends or family.  She will be missed, but I am happy in the thought that she is now with the Father taking her long deserved rightful place.  Liz, we will miss you.

 I loved Liz. She was like an angel on earth sent to Allison and me when we opened our little business The Merry Thought. She was always smiling and willing to do anything to help us. She was a loyal friend and  was so devoted to her family. She loved her family . She was always relating stories about what each of you was doing and she was so proud  of your accomplishments. She made a diffence in my life and I will miss her. Marilyn Gripon

Liz was a great friend to all the Slates, family actually, funny, loving and very giving of herself. She was so classy, we'll all miss her..love, Debbie, Dennis, Shelby and Kellie

What a sweet sweet lady! The time we spent with Mamaw was always a celebration and she was always beautiful with her presents her laughter and wit. The ever present camera recording every action and reaction from the crowd of family and friends. I am sure she is recording her after life as I write this tribute. Please be happy with us too have known and been allowed to know Mamaw if only for a short time. Terry and Gretchen

Liz and Art were like second parents for us as we were a young couple far from home. Liz always made us feel like part of her family. No one made old fashions like her! We will miss her but not forget her.

Liz ~ We will always keep all the good time and memories we had with you in our hearts.  We have all the pictures to prove it, dear friend.  I know that you are in Heaven with that big smile on your face....we love and will miss you -- Christmas won't be the same with you not spending it with our family.

Liz was the life of the party and always had a smile on her face.  She will be missed....

Sarge & Liz were like grandparents to us. The trips to their gulf side home gave us wonderful memories and a few sunburns as well. Her laughter be missed.

My Grandmother was a beautiful person who filled my life with wonderful memories.  She will be deeply missed and always loved!
