Elisabeth Brannon, 101, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 29, 2014. She was our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother known to everyone as Nanny. She was born in Waller, Texas on March 24, 1913, graduated from Reagan High School, and had a long career with Foley’s Department Store.
Elisabeth was preceded in death by her son, Charles Richard Brannon. She is survived by her son, Ronnie Brannon and wife Carolyn; daughter Brenda Davis; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Elisabeth lived a full and joyful life. She loved to cook, travel and work in her flower beds. She was especially proud of winning Yard of The Month several times. She was an avid reader and especially loved the Reader’s Digest.
Visitation will be held from 6pm until 8pm on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Brookside Funeral Home Champions, 3410 FM 1960 West, Houston. A celebration of Elisabeth’s life will be held in the chapel of Champion Forest Baptist Church, 15555 Stuebner Airline Road, Houston, on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 11 AM. A graveside service and committal will immediately follow in Hollywood Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Dean Davis, Rodney Davis, Ricky Brannon, Rhett Tomberlin, Reese Tomberlin and Jason Brannon. Honorary pallbearers are Chad Brannon and Jason Michael Brannon.
I would like to thank the Bible Explorers Class at Champion Forest Baptist Church, who ‘adopted’ Elisabeth as their own special grandmother.
