Dad, I did the best I could to "take care of our boy".  But, now it's your turn (again).   The only comfort I have in losing our sweet Eddie is that he is with you.  You will both be forever in my heart and on my mind.

It's a great memory that my dad was at my wedding. I am so thankful that he got to meet my wife Cory, and develop a loving relationship with her. I know I've been far from the perfect son, but it was never from lack of Love of My Father. I miss him everyday.

Ed was my client for 15 years...   He was such a sweetheart.  Really enjoyed my conversations with him and all of his smiles.   Reading thru the memories, I agree to the words mischievous and jovial!   Hugs to the family for your loss.  

Ed was a dear friend for over 40 years and I will miss him more than I can say.  We had some great times, the funniest being when he took Becky and me out on his air boat, then proceeded to get us stuck on dry land in the middle of absolutely nowhere.  At that point he said - “The only thing we have to use as a bucket to get some water under us, is the ice chest, so we might as well sit and drink up all the beer ”.  After taking care of the beer, we began making progress until he told us two females “Oh, forgot to tell you, watch out for the rattlesnakes”.  That was the crazy Ed I will cherish.  I am glad you are in God’s hands and free of pain, my friend.

Ed thank you for being a friend to my dad Jimmy Smith. Your kind words of encouragement will always be treasured by my brothers and me. Thank you for the memories, the laughs and smiles. God bless the Hood family.

Big heart, big smile, a blessing - thank you, Ed. God speed.

Ed was a long time friend and colleague. We worked together at Bechtel where one of his favorite stories was how he had a team of, for the most part, women working for him. We had a large challenging project which included miles of cable tray and cabling.  We called his ladies,  Girlz in the Hood. Ed worked well with women, giving them the respect they deserved for designing the sometimes arduous portions of the project. He will be missed. R.I.P. Ed. 🌺🙏

Ed was in my dad’s life for so long I can’t remember him not being in his life. At least 35 years. My dad worked with Ed and hunted and fished with him as well. I  recall Ed always being quick with a joke and just a jovial person. Dad has dementia now but still remembers Ed and cherished his friendship. He still talks about those times. I also recall that Ed may have been a bit of a mischief maker. Blessings to his family and all those that called him friend. 

I met Ed at J.E.Sireene in 1978. He was always nice and very helpful to me. 
He and I, fast became friends and would work out together and go on several hunting/fishing
trips. 
He was always scoping out the women. One day at lunch, as we were eating our burgers, I exclaimed to look at the cute blonde bombshell that just came in. As he whirled around trying see “my fictional lady”—I had half of his French fry order in my mouth—he was furious!!!

Ed  and I had lots of fun and love while we were together. Sorry to hear about his pain and death 

I knew and worked with Ed for 30 years.   A gifted and talented designer with a unfailing sense of fairness and unending good humor. He was a pleasure to know and work with. Good man, good hand and a good friend....farewell and godspeed my old com padre

My wife and I worked with Ed different times over the years. Ed was the go to guy that we all turned to for answers. He was always glad to share his knowledge but you could expect to receive it along with a hard time in fun. We shared many good times together outside of work. I will remember Ed as a big strong guy with many different skills and a big heart. He will be missed.

I consider it an honor to have been invited into the Hood family, and a privilege to have known Ed as "Dad" for these past couple of years.  I cherish every moment we had together, and miss my "Dad" terribly.  My thoughts and prayers of love and healing go out to the rest of our family, and to all those who were touched for having known this remarkable man.  There were many, because my dear father-in-law never met a stranger.  

I'm going to miss you everyday Dad. I love you, and so very blessed to have had you for my father. And it was an honor to have you by my side at my wedding.
