Duane was in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955 as an aircraft mechanic during the Korean War.
After leaving the Air Force, he started out as an auto mechanic, worked as a hardware salesman and later did home remodeling work. He enjoyed working with tools and building things.
He is preceded in death by his parents William and Nola (Boling) Tarrant, his son Lucien Clyde Tarrant, his grandson Jeremy Ross Newcomb, his brothers Cloise”Bill”, Edward, Glenn and Jerry Tarrant, sisters Mozell Huxtable, Virblee Collinsworth, and Helen Devreaux.
Duane is survived by his daughter Nola (Wally) Newcomb, his son Rusk (Andrea) Tarrant, his granddaughter Jessica Nicole Newcomb, his grandson John Robert Tarrant, his sister Sandra “Kay” Root, his brothers Ralph (Rita) Tarrant and Barry (Elaine) Tarrant.
Burial will be at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX on Wednesday, August 23rd at 10:15 am.
