Dorothy Lee Van Winkle, 81, passed away on November 27, 2013. She was born on July 13, 1932 to George W. and Lola Mae Blackmon in Milano, Texas. Dorothy is survived by her children, Vicki Buchanan and husband Scott, Larry Van Winkle and wife Randi Sue, Debora Owens and husband Mike, and Vanessa Hudgins; her sister Leona Thompson; 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grand children. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William Leland Van Winkle and their infant daughter. Family will receive friends on Saturday, November 30, 2013 from 12pm to 3pm at Brookside Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 3pm. Internment to follow at Brookside Memorial Park Cemetery. The family wishes to express gratitude to First Baptist of North Channel for their enduring support.
