Doris was born in 1924 in Crawford, Texas to Sam Milton Meadows and Stella Mae Moss Meadows. She was the oldest of her three siblings, Bobby Neal and Filton Meadows who preceded her. She eventually moved to Houston and she married John Thomas O’Connell II. John preceded her in death. Doris loved her family, church, her neighbors and ice cream. She loved to bake cookies at Christmas to share her love. She was kind hearted. She was quick to tell you about her life on the farm as a young girl. She cherished her farm girl memories. She and Jack adopted one daughter Jacqueline Lurie O’Connell. Jack had a son J. T. O’Connell. She had seven grandchildren as well and loved them all. Doris will be missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 8th from 9:00AM to 11:00AM with a funeral service starting at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery. A lunch will be held following interment at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home from 12:30PM to 2:30PM.
