Donna Jackson, 73, passed away peacefully in her home in Houston, Texas on December 14, 2021. Born in Malone, New York in 1948, Donna and her family eventually moved to Houston where she lived for nearly her entire life. She attended Robert E. Lee High School in Houston, and graduated in 1966. Donna devoted her life to taking care of her baby Bill. He was her pride and joy. She was a dedicated and strong woman, who made many friends during her lifetime. Donna loved reading, playing cards, traveling, laughing and spending time with her YaYa Sisters. After her retirement Donna enjoyed being a full time Grammy and taking care of her granddaughters whom she loved tremendously.
She is survived by her partner, Preston Bridgewater, Houston, TX; son William Jackson, his wife Christine, and granddaughter Parker, Spring, TX; granddaughter Samantha Layton,Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; grandson Chase Floyd, Memphis, Tennessee; her YaYa Sisters, and many more wonderful friends who were like family.
She is preceded in death by her parents Parker and Carrie Newell, stepmother Peggy Newell, sister Beverly Wilson and brother in law Clyde Wilson.
There will be a celebration of Donna’s life on Sunday, January 30 at 2 p.m. at Shirley Acres, 217 Woerner Rd, Houston, TX 77090.
