Donna was born to Miron McKee Brown and Marguerite Ann Germeshausen April 29, 1945, in Woodland, California. Donna attended Business College and started her career by working at Marine Corp Logistic Base in Barstow, California where she met the love of her life, George. She married George Gonzales in 1967 and they travelled to Houston to begin their lives together. Together they raised two children, Tiffany and Crystal.
She is survived by: Tiffany Vela (Ismael “Mike”), Crystal Eisner (Jason), and her grandchildren Madeline, Ismael “Trey”, Georgia, and Liliana; her sisters Leota Bell and Kennie Brown and her cherished nieces, nephews, compadres, and friends who are more like family.
She was preceded in death by George (Husband), Marguerite, (Mother), Miron (Father), Charlotte (Sister), and Jerry (Brother).
Donna, also known as Momo by all who knew and loved her, was a stay-at-home wife and mom who enjoyed bowling, singing in the church choir, volunteering at St. Luke’s, and helping in the PTA. She also babysat three wonderful children whom she loved very much.
Once she had grandchildren, she poured herself into loving them, spending time with them, babysitting and making lots of memories with all her babies. She loved playing the game “Sorry” with the grandkids and never seemed to lose but more importantly, she always told the grandkids she loved them “as high as the sky and as deep as the ocean”.
We could always trust Momo to remind us of everyone’s birthday or anniversary as she was a walking calendar and date book. She always had strawberries and whipped cream ready for visits, popsicles for all the neighborhood kiddos, made pineapple milkshakes, and had sleepovers that included sleeping in late and pajama days.
After the passing of her husband George (Popo), Momo spent her time between Katy, San Antonio, and Houston. In Katy, she enjoyed barn trips to feed the horses with Georgia and watching Lily at cheer practice. In San Antonio, she took late night trips for hamburgers and Diet Cokes with Maddie and enjoyed hanging out with Trey to watch Wheel of Fortune. And when she was in Houston, she enjoyed relaxing in her recliner.
