Donald Eugene Adams

Donald Eugene Adams (Don) passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023 in Katy, TX after a long and fulfilling life. He was born in Flat Rock, Ohio, on January 17, 1932, to Jerry and Marion Adams. After serving in the navy, he then graduated from Kent State University and went to work for the Kroger Company. In 1968, the family moved to Houston, where Don continued his long career with Kroger. At the age of 70, he retired from P L Marketing, where he worked as a food broker calling on Kroger stores.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, 5 siblings, and also by the love of his life, his wife of 64 years, Betty Lou. He is survived by his children, Kathy Kelley, Daniel Polyak, Stacey Adams, Debbie Adams and Aimee Adams. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Dad was a loving and devoted husband and father and he never met a stranger! He loved our Lord Jesus Christ and was an exceptional role model for his children and others. He was a Nickel Plate Rail steam engine buff, enjoyed sudoku puzzles daily, and recently took to playing dominoes. Dad was most proud and honored that he was able to take care of Mom as her health declined over the last 5 years of her life. His life was a blessing, his memory our treasure, and he will be greatly missed by his family and all those who knew and loved him.

Don’s wishes were to have the immediate family celebrate his life during a private interment at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his honor may be made to Grace Fellowship Church, 2655 S. Mason Road, Katy, TX 77450.
