David Josiah Poindexter

David Josiah Poindexter, 22, entered eternal rest on July 15, 2023. He was born November 13, 2000 in Houston, Texas to Frank & Melynda Poindexter. David graduated from New Caney High School. He was known as “the boss” at home. He loved his family and life! He also loved the Avengers! With the Hulk being his favorite Avenger. David also enjoyed Dora the Explorer, Blues Clues, and Bear in the Big Blue House, in addition to books, his IPad, computers, and balloons.

David is preceded in death by his great grandparents; grandfathers, Ray Lewis Hooks and Donald Ray Brothers; great uncle, Wiley Anton Hamilton.

Left to cherish his loving memory, parents: Frank & Melynda Poindexter; siblings: Dylan Poindexter & wife Alexis, Marah Poindexter, Mia Poindexter; grandparents: Kathy Brothers, Norma Poindexter, Glenn Poindexter; uncles: Deen Poindexter and Allen Poindexter; aunts: Melinda Poindexter, Amanda Lachney, Sherry Devries; cousins: Bazzell Lachney, Zachery Lachney, Abagayle Postoak & husband Caleb; along with countless other extended family as well as teachers, caregivers, nurses, therapists, doctors, and friends.

Visitation for family and friends will begin on Friday, July 21, 2023 at 10am with the funeral service beginning at 12pm at the New Caney Family Worship Center. Interment to follow in Brookside Memorial Park at 2pm following the funeral service. The family is encouraging guests to wear their favorite Marvel Avenger character attire.

In honor of David, donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
