David Lane Fritz passed away with grace at the age of 77 on October 6, 2016 in Houston, TX after a period of health decline. He was born in Copperas Cove, TX; he was the oldest son of the late Edward Phillip Fritz and Ethyel Marie Smylie Fritz.
David was a proud veteran of the Army Corp and Airforce Reserve. He was a member belonging to American Legion. He was an envoy and honorary member of BETA SIGMA PHI. His life work was banking. He helped many people start their own businesses as senior loan officer in several banks making many lifelong friends. He loved so much being a baseball umpire of Little League Baseball and a football coach with FUN Football League. David was the owner of the Mail Route with devoted customers being with him for our thirty years. He spent many weekends attending twirling competitions all over the country.
David was a kind, gentle, intelligent man full of wisdom, faith and compassion which he shared with his family and friends. He was a member of the Methodist Church. His hobbies included deer hunting, model trains, restoring classic cars, RV Motor Homes for travel, square dancing, UT Football season ticket owner, and attending all sport activities of his children and grandchildren.
David is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly Nixon Fritz, of 55 years; his son Daniel Lance Fritz and daughter in law Margaret Ploch Fritz; Daughter Debra La Gay Fritz Kenna, grandchildren Taylor Marie, Alexis Nicole, Lane Daniel, Julia Ann Fritz, Emma Terese, and Olivia Grace Fritz Kenna; Brother James Edward and wife Deborah Ann of Nashville Tennessee; Nephew Dr. Mark Fritz and wife Stephanie and their family.
