Curt lived his life with a ferocious work ethic, determination and a spirit of adventure from his birth in Japan on the 5th of November 1957, until his death. He traveled the world even as a child, attending high school in Belgium, Alabama and California. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering and served as President of Pi Kappa Phi.
He began his professional career as a Petroleum Engineer in 1980 with Getty Oil, which through merger and acquisition became Texaco and eventually Chevron. His many assignments were as diverse as Curt himself. They ranged from stateside assignments in Oklahoma, Colorado and Texas to international ones in Indonesia, Kuwait, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, China and Angola. Throughout his career his levels of responsibility were ever increasing with his final assignment in Angola as Drilling and Completion Operations Manager.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Curt also found time for hobbies and recreation. He enjoyed travel, scuba-diving, golfing and live country music. He particularly enjoyed these pursuits when he could share them with his family.
Curt is survived by his wife, Elly Maryati Said Haddock, and his father, Col. Clovis C. Haddock, Sr. (ret) and his step-mother, Dianne Haddock. Curt also left three children who loved him dearly; his daughter, Jessica Haddock Goodman and her husband, Randy Goodman, his son, Clovis Curtis Haddock III and his wife, April Haddock and his daughter, Jill Loraine Haddock. Wallis (ret), his step-sister, Sena Mathues and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from Elly’s family including Chaerudin, Syachrul, Syaiful, Julian and Nelly Oksiniar. He will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews; Melanie Capoot Martin and husband, Scott Martin, Scott Capoot, Hayley Mathues, Ally Mathues, Nate Mathues his great-niece, Caroline Martin, and many other extended family members. He was reunited in Heaven with his mother, Vera McBride Haddock.
