Connie was born on April 25th, 1945, in San Antonio, Texas to John and Anne Emmert. She graduated from Providence Catholic High School and attended the University of Texas. Connie met her husband Dick on a blind date through his fraternity, and they were married for 55 years. She worked for Chiquita Banana and Hallmark but would assert her purpose was that of a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling internationally with her family, especially to Seven Mile Beach on Grand Cayman. Connie was an accomplished tennis player, an orchid-growing enthusiast, and a die-hard Astros fan. She had many wonderful decades-long friendships that were so dear to her. Known as “Omi” by her adoring grandchildren, there was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with them. Connie was preceded in death by her husband Dick and her parents.
She leaves behind her daughter, Laurie Farroni of Galveston, Texas; sons, Richard Arthur Warriner Jr of Cypress, Texas, and Doug Warriner and wife Kelly of Smithville, Texas; eight grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Connie was a loving mom, friend, and neighbor and will be dearly missed.
The family would like to thank the respiratory therapists and nurses at Methodist Continuing Care Hospital and the caring staff of Choice Hospice for providing such kind and supportive care over the last month. A service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday July 22nd, at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church 1530 Norwalk Dr, Katy, TX 77450.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Galveston Houston Families Exploring Down Syndrome https://gclfeds.wildapricot.org/page-721943 or to a charity of your choice.
