CHRISTINA WILHELMINA “INEKE” SEWELL 1944-2016. Ineke was born on September 13, 1944 in Utrecht, the Netherlands maiden name van Leur to Peterus Wilhelmus van Leur and Jacoba van Plattering and passed away in Spring,Texas on October 30, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, TSgt. Emanuel Earl Sewell and six siblings. Ineke is survived by her two siblings, Albertus Peterus and wife Johanna van Leur of Utrecht, the Netherlands, and Janneke and husband Larry Durbin of Houston, Texas; father-in law, Matthew Sewell of Houston, Texas; five daughters, Jacqueline and husband Andre Brown Sr, Monique van Leur, Patricia van Leur, Michelle and husband Bishir Shboul , Stephanie and husband Christopher Johnson; stepson, OJ Sewell; four grandchildren, Andre-Lamar Brown, Morgan Brown, Selena Aguilar and Nicholas Johnson; one greatgrandchild, Andre-Emanuel Brown; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews in the Netherlands and the United States
.
Ineke was born and raised in the Netherlands during WW2 as the youngest of a large loving family. She worked in a Laboratory for many years. She met the love of her life during a USO sponsored dance. They raised their five children and were together for almost 30 years when the Lord called Emanuel home. Hard working and determined Ineke went on to take care of the girls while missing her soul-mate every minute of the day. She was diagnosed with COPD, Osteoporosis and Degenerative Heart Disease but it did not stop her for years until she finally could not go on anymore. She is now at peace and reunited with her loved ones and will be laid to rest with the love of her life.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 7, 2016 from 5pm to 8pm at American Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 12pm in the chapel at American Heritage Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery.
