Charlie Dean Worthen

1929-2017

A native Houstonian born to WE and Eva Worthen. He and LaWanda Brown married and had four children. He is preceded in death by parents, wife LaWanda Worthen, a brother, WE Worthen, Jr., sister Eva Smith, a son CD Worthen, Jr. He is survived by wife of 32 years Jerria Worthen, daughters Debbie McKay and husband Rich, Denise Barefield and husband Steve, Cindy Morales and husband Jesse. Nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

He graduated Milby, Allen Academy, ranking Lt. Colonel, University of Houston two years. He owned Worthen Construction, president of the 100 club, member of the board of directors of Houston Livestock & Rodeo, a founder of Antique Auto Club of America. Enjoyed family and friends at his ranch in the hill country, golf, fishing, hunting and traveling with friends. The family gives a special thanks to caregivers and staff at Autumn Leaves- Cy Fair and Grace Hospice of Texas.
