He was born May 10, 1927, in Palestine, Arkansas, to Edgar and Stella Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Mary Garrison, Alvern Richards and Martha Bradley.
Charles, a veteran of the Korean War, was a founding member of the Pasadena Southern Congregational Methodist Church, where he served faithfully as Church Leader, Deacon, and Sunday School teacher until he went to be with his Lord. He is mourned by his loving wife of 61 years, Eveline Martin; his son, Larry Martin and wife, Jo-Jo; his daughter, Denise Earley and husband, David; his beloved grandchildren, Zachary, Seth and Jessica Martin, D. J. Earley and wife, Jana, and Mollie and Maggie Earley; and one great-grandchild, Chloe Earley. He is also survived by one brother, Bill Martin, and two sisters, Myrtis Webb and Betty Forrest; multiple nieces and nephews; his extended church family and many friends.
Honorary Pallbearers are Zachary Martin, Seth Martin, D. J. Earley, Finley Duke, Kenneth Walters, and Jim Whitehead.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the wonderful nurses and aides who cared for Charles during his last days.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the McKnight Cemetery CR 975 Cushing, Texas 75760 at 2:00 p.m.
Pastor Helen Brinson will officiate.
