Charlie Hall was born on February 15,1935 to Floyd and Ethel Hall in Jasper County near the small town of Kirbyville, Texas. He was the oldest of two children. His sister, Charlene Hall Mauer, preceded him in death in 1998.
Charlie joined the Army after graduating from High School in May 1953. During his time in the Army, Charlie spent 18 months serving with the 51st Signal Battalion Corps in Uijongbu, Camp Red Cloud, South Korea. He was in Special Services where he played the trumpet throughout his time in the Army. He was honorably discharged on May 18, 1956 after earning the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal.
After his time in the Army, Charlie held a variety of jobs, but his love remained his music. During 1965 Charlie met and married Anni Kornhaus and became an instant husband and father to her two children, Kathy and Tommy. On June 26, 1966, Charlie became a confirmed member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church where he remained until his death. In 1968 Charlie became an employee of the Reliable Life Insurance Company as an insurance agent. By the time he retired in 1995, he was the District Manager of one of Reliable's top selling offices.
Charlie was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years in 1997. He is survived by his children, brother-in-law and various cousins, nieces and nephews.
