It is with profound grief and regret that we announce the passing of Dr. Celestino Coronel Dimayuga, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother on June 9, 2013 in Meadows Place, TX, into the welcoming arms of his God.
Dr. Dimayuga graduated from the University of Santo Tomas, College of Medicine, Manila, Philippines, in 1950 and completed surgical residency in St. Louis, MO. He practiced general surgery in Moberly, MO, and Decatur, IL, as an employee of the Wabash Railroad. He returned to the Philippines in 1957 and established the first surgical clinic in Lipa City. He later opened the San Sebastian General Hospital, where he spent the next 35 years practicing medicine. Dr. Dimayuga was knighted in the Order of St. Sylvester on the 19th of June, 1981, by Pope John Paul II in recognition of a lifetime of service to others and the Catholic Church. He retired in 1987 and returned to the United States and spent the rest of his years surrounded by his family in Houston, TX.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Rodgers Dimayuga and children Jose and wife Victoria, of Ormond Beach, FL; Diana and husband Enric Pasculado of Houston, TX; Roberto and wife Angelina Dimayuga of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA; Deborah and husband Gil Quizon of Houston, TX; Michael and wife Eloisa Dimayuga of Ormond Beach, FL; Steven and wife Maria Corazon Dimayuga of Houston, TX; David and wife Anna Dimayuga of Houston, TX; Patrick and wife Gilda Dimayuga of Katy, TX; Paul and wife Anna Dimayuga of Burbank, CA; Elizabeth and husband Brian Hunnicut of Fulshear, TX; and Margaret and husband Marc Spieldenner of Katy, TX; grandchildren Edward, Eric, Carlos, Christine, Alexandra, Catherine, Derek, Melissa, Natalia, Karen, Andrew, Daniel, Joshua, Kimberly, Madeline, Julia, Lukas, Christian, Maia, Nathan and Ian; and great-grandchildren Madalina, Olivia and Lennon; sisters Lilia, Leticia, Amparo, Milagros and Jesusa; and brother Romeo.
