Catherine is preceded in death by her husband Timothy Hollywood, parents Martin and Helen Kowis, brother Mike Kowis and sister Ann Pope. Catherine is survived by her four children and their spouses: Deborah and David Laine, Mark and Pam Hollywood, Patrick and Bonnie Hollywood, and Andrew and Janie Hollywood; twelve grandchildren: Aaron and Joshua Munsart, Corey and Madison Laine, Kyle Hollywood and wife Rachel, Kreg Hollywood and wife Celia, Rachel and husband James Knight, Caitlyn Hollywood, Christian Hollywood, William Hollywood, Cameron Hollywood and Kayley Hollywood; and one great grandchild Landon Hollywood.
Catherine grew up in Houston Heights, and graduated from St. Pius High School in 1960. She was married to Timothy Patrick Hollywood for 58 years, and they were founding members of St. Jerome Catholic Church since 1968.
Catherine worked at Ridgecrest Elementary School as the Principal’s secretary, and later was employed by Shell Oil Company as an administrative secretary, retiring in 1996.
Catherine stayed quite busy raising her four children with activities that included little league baseball, Girl Scouts, Room Mom for several of their classrooms, as well as traveling to Colorado and across the U.S. in the family station wagon for many memorable camping trips. She worked tirelessly to make these trips so much fun for her children.
Catherine showed her very creative side over the years to produce the most remarkable keepsakes. Her talented hands made the most beautiful quilts, Christmas ornaments and decorations, cross-stitched angels, crocheted bedspreads, and crocheted christening bonnets for her grandchildren, along with sewn baby blankets in beautiful fabrics for each of them.
She also shared her creative skills by volunteering her time making gifts for the Charity Guild of Catholic Women. She was active for seven years as a member of “The Lady Fingers” group and enjoyed her time there with this group of ladies.
Her flower gardens have been a source of pure joy for Catherine, her family, and her neighbors. Many hours were spent planting and nurturing her beautiful flowers, which were always a focal point for the family’s visits as they all walked together through the colorful gardens and admired her beauties.
The memories Catherine created for her family are endless and will continue to live on in the hearts of all she touched.
