On November 26, 1952, a precious gift was born and received by James and Ora Mae Whitmire, a beautiful baby girl named Carolyn Diane Whitmire. After a lengthy illness, heaven received Carolyn’s lovely spirit on January 20, 2023, at Kindred Hospital Houston Medical Center in Houston, Texas. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents James and Ora Mae Whitmire.
She attended Kashmere Senior High School in Houston, Texas where she graduated class of 1971. Shortly after graduating, she pursued a career in retail as an office manager for Brits and MaCory. After 12 years of service, she decided to work for the state as a child protective service counselor. Carolyn retired after 18 years of service.
Carolyn accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Gospel Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Years later she became a member of Strait Life Missionary Baptist Church. There, she served on the usher board for over 10 years. After relocating to Copperas Cove TX to be with her son James and daughter-in-law Veronica, she joined Bethesda Fellowship Ministry under watch care. Celestine of Spring, Texas; Fabienne Whitmire of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, James D Whitmire of San Antonio, Texas, Cameron Whitmire, Herbert Lee, Miracle Whitmire of Spring, Texas, and Kalona M. Whitmire of Houston, Texas; three great-grandchildren Malaika and Hendrix Whitmire of San Antonio, Cameron Whitmire Jr. Houston Texas; four grandchildren-in-love, Shannon White of Atlanta, Georgia, Steven White II of Dallas, Texas, Jarred White of San Antonio, Texas, and Amari Snead of Kempner, Texas; three great-grandchildren-in-love, Kassydee White of Atlanta, Georgia, Va’Layah White of Kempner, Texas and Amir White of Killeen, Texas, and a host of relatives and friends who loved her.
