Carolyn Sue Blair

Carolyn Sue Blair was born in Oklahoma City on January 25, 1937, and died in Houston, Texas on September 13, 2013. Though she grew up in modest circumstances, with tenacity and spirit, she managed to put herself through nursing school at St. Anthony’s Hospital. She spent her life in the service of others. She worked tirelessly, both in the raising of her children, and in the care she gave to all her patients throughout her distinguished nursing career. She retired from Memorial City Hospital in Houston, Texas in 2002. She was intelligent, had a great sense of humor, and above all, was devoted to her family. She had a tremendous sense of duty, and led her life with strength and integrity.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret A. Knuppel and Carroll E. Streetman. She is survived by her brothers, Kenneth Streetman, Fred Knuppel, and Sonny Knuppel, and by her son Scott Sossen & wife Danna, daughter Dana Parks & husband Alan, and daughter Charla McKenna & husband David, as well as her seven grandchildren: Melissa & Barbara Sossen, Angela, Natalie, & Jonathan Parks, and Matthew & Elizabeth McKenna.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Forest Park Westheimer funeral home on Friday, September 20th.
