Carlos Ruiz

Carlos Ruiz of Houston, Texas was born September 9, 1939 in Mexico and passed away at his home on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at the age of 84. He was a man of many talents from fixing cabinets, lawnmowers and being able to use just about any tool; he enjoyed the outdoors gardening and taking care of his plants; he could sing, play guitar and accordion and loved being with his family and friends or talking with his neighbors or his facebook friends. He was proud of his Mexican heritage and enjoyed learning the history of Mexico. He also enjoyed Hawaiian shirts and going to the beach, riding bikes; drinking coffee, eating animal crackers and Raman noodles. He was a true people person and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Carlos is survived by his wife Esperanza Ruiz; children, Guadalupe Medina and Benito; Jaime Ruiz and Griselda Cuellar; Blanca Patricia Ruiz and Fortunato; Luz Maria Ruiz; Carlos Enrique Ruiz; Perla Karina Gallardo and Neftali; and Edgar Omar Ruiz and Norma Mendiola; 23 grandchildren, along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and 3 sisters and other family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Javier Ruiz; Graciela Ruiz and Blanca Estella Ruiz.

Carlos Ruiz de Houston, Texas nació el 9 de septiembre de 1939 en México y falleció en su casa el domingo 26 de mayo de 2024 a la edad de 84 años. Era un hombre de muchos talentos desde arreglar gabinetes, cortadoras de césped y saber usar casi cualquier herramienta; disfrutaba del jardín al aire libre y cuidaba sus plantas; sabía cantar, tocar la guitarra y el acordeón y le encantaba estar con su familia y amigos o hablar con sus vecinos o sus amigos de Facebook. Estaba orgulloso de su herencia mexicana y disfrutaba aprendiendo la historia de México. También le gustaban las camisas hawaianas e ir a la playa, andar en bicicleta; tomando café, comiendo galletas de animales y fideos Raman. Era una persona verdaderamente sociable y todos los que lo conocieron y amaron lo extrañarán mucho.

A Carlos le sobreviven su esposa Esperanza Ruiz; los niños, Guadalupe Medina y Benito; Jaime Ruiz y Griselda Cuéllar; Blanca Patricia Ruiz y Fortunato; Luz María Ruiz; Carlos Enrique Ruíz; Perla Karina Gallardo y Neftalí; y Edgar Omar Ruiz y Norma Mendiola; 23 nietos, junto con numerosos bisnietos y tataranietos y 3 hermanas y otros miembros de la familia.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres y sus hermanos, Javier Ruiz; Graciela Ruiz y Blanca Estella Ruiz.

A funeral service / servicio funebre will occur Tuesday, June 4, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 4136 BROADWAY ST, HOUSTON, TX 77087. A committal service / sepelio will occur Tuesday, June 4, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home & Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023.
