Devoted Mother, Loving Wife, Cherished Grandma & Fearless Guardian of Loved Ones – Soft Heart, Unbreakable Spirit
Bonny Joyce Adams was a woman whose extraordinary spirit illuminated the lives of all who knew her. She was warm, generous, and deeply devoted to her family. With a heart full of compassion and patience, she radiated love effortlessly—but beneath her soft-spoken grace was a fierce protectress. Bonny was unapologetically honest and always spoke her mind with kindness and conviction. Her loyalty ran deep, and she never hesitated to stand boldly in defense of those she loved.
She had a deep passion for learning and took education seriously. One of her greatest dreams was to return to school and earn her Ph.D. Although her illness prevented her from fulfilling that goal, her commitment to growth and knowledge never faded. It was this love for education that inspired her to start her own in-home daycare while her daughters were still young—a nurturing space filled with warmth, guidance, and structure. Later, she followed her calling further by becoming an elementary school teacher, where she continued to impact young lives through patience, discipline, and unconditional support.
Bonny found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She cherished everything from thrift store treasures to elegant luxury finds, always valuing quality but believing that love shined brighter than any label. She adored romance novels and mystery audiobooks, always drawn to a good love story and a twist she didn’t see coming. She enjoyed clue-solving television shows, keeping her mind sharp and engaged, and found deep peace in gardening, where she cultivated life, beauty, and serenity with her own two hands.
Bonny was preceded in death by her father, James Hayes; her stepmother, Mary Hayes; her brothers, John Hayes and Victor Randolph. She is survived by her loving husband, Leroy Gaint; her mother, Emily Thomas; her stepfather, Elder Joe Thomas; her daughters, Shari Adams and Shana Adams; her step-sons, Leroy Boyd and Carl Boyd; her grandchildren, Nylla, Shayla, Jaime, SaNiya, and Tyla; and her siblings, Jerilyn Hayes, Jethro Thomas, and Simone Randolph. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives she touched with her grace and unwavering love.
Her life was a beautiful blend of strength and softness. Bonny leaves behind a legacy of love, protection, and perseverance. Her spirit will live on in the lives she nurtured, the wisdom she shared, and the deep love she gave so freely.
