Bonnie Gail Edwards

She was born to the late Paul Joseph & Thelma Humplik, of Houston Texas. Bonnie graduated from MacArthur High school. Bonnie married the love of her life, the late Wendell Ray Edwards Jr. in 1984.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother-Arthur Humplik, two nephews David Humplik and Waylon Welsh, and great granddaughter Emeriee Moore.

Bonnie is survived by four brothers: Raymond, Johnny, Billy, James “Jimmy”, three sisters Helen, Brenda and Stephanie, five children: Wendell Edwards (Donna), Kimberly Martin, Jason Gonzales (Brandie), Marlo Gonzales, and Warren “Little Ray” Edwards. Grandchildren: Madelyn (Patrick), Courtlyn (Logan), Hanna, Ashley, Ireland, Brady, Brooklyn (John), Cordell (Carlye), Noelia, Marlena, Jaylin, Jaziah, & Jayden “Taco”. She is also survived by a host of great-grandchildren, and foster children that she considered her own.

Bonnie met her husband, Wendell “ Big Ray” Edwards in 1982 and they quickly fell in love and began their blended family of “yours, mine, and ours” and worked together running a trucking business & diesel repair shop. Bonnie became a licensed foster parent for the State of Texas and was a boy foster mom, taking in over 20 foster kids over the span of 20 years. Bonnie had a heart for troubled youth and made big differences in many of their lives. Bonnie loved to fish, go to the beach, the mountains, and travel to see family and friends. She had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and often spoke of reuniting with her husband Big Ray, Donna Todd and many others that passed before her.

Memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday February 23, 2024, at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. Family and friends are welcome for visitation before service begins from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM. Graveside service will immediately follow, and the family would like to invite all friends and family to lunch at Bonnie’s home after the service.
