He was born in Victoria, TX on July 21, 1946, to Doris and Rufus Green Senior.
Bobby graduated from Roy Miller High School, Corpus Christi, TX and received his Nursing Degree from Laredo College, Laredo, TX. He proudly attended Prairie View A&M University prior to being drafted into the US Army where he served for 9 years and was a Vietnam Veteran.
He was married to Dr. Janice Nickie-Green for 37 lovingly memorable years.
Bobby had a career in Nursing for multiple levels of healthcare, including time in clinical psychology in the US Army.
Bobby had a passion for baking, cooking, gardening, reading, the rodeo circuit, history, geography, listening to his favorite singer Aretha Franklin, and grandparenting his 3 Ms. His loving nature would find him brightening anyone’s day through his infectious laugh and sense of humor.
He is survived by Wife Janice, Son Joel and Daughter-in-Law Kelly, Granddaughters Madilyn, Marli and Macy, Brother Dr. Rufus Green, Jr (Wife Bernadette), Brother Wilton “Brother” Wysinger, Sister-in-Heart Sharon Brown (Husband Harold “Rap”), Sister LaWanna Stephenson, Sisters-in-Law Alma Jones and Claire Nickie Boucaud, Brother-in-Law James Roger Nickie (Wife Lisbeth), Aunt Ester Moore, Nephews Geoffrey and Remington Green, Niece Rylee Green, Great-Niece Christina, members of the Bobbie Hackett family, countless cousins, and family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Mother Doris Griffin, Stepfather Hardy Griffin, Father Rufus Green Sr, and Stepmother Castella Green.
Family, friends and others are invited to Earthman Resthaven at 13102 N Freeway Houston, TX 77060 on Thursday December 8, 2023. The visitation will be held from 12pm-2pm, the Service from 2pm-3pm with a reception to follow to reminisce and honor the life of Bobby. May he Rest in Eternal Peace.
