Blanche Burke Morman of Houston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, the 7th of July 2024. Blanche was born the 20th of February 1942, the only child of Evelyn Sutton Burke and John Jarratt Burke of Mariana, Arkansas. Blanche graduated from The University of Arkansas in 1964 with a BA in Education and was a life-long member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
Blanche moved to Houston and married James Percy Morman, Jr. on the 4th of November 1967. Together they raised their three children where Blanche for some years as a teacher at Holy Spirit Episcopal School where she met many lifelong friends. Blanche loved to play tennis, golf, and was active in many organizations – she was best known for her incredible friendship, creativity, and ability to lend a hand. Blanche loved to help with projects for friends – nothing was ever too big or small for her to pitch in and help.
Blanche was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Percy Morman, Jr. She is survived by her children: Lynne Morman McClellan (Michael Bruce McClellan), James Percy Morman III “Trey”, and Susan Morman Teeple (Charles Sloan Teeple V). Blanche was cherished Lulu to her grandchildren: Ian James McClellan, Colin Burke McClellan, Cate Elizabeth McClellan, James Percy Morman IV “Jameson”, Madelyn Ann Morman, Charles Sloan Teeple VI “Chase”, James Hudson Teeple and Evelyn Hardie Teeple. Blanche’s life was blessed by family and dear friends.
The family would like to express our sincerest appreciation to Brandi Smith for incredible care of our mother. She was not just cared for by Brandi, she was loved. Thank you as well to Angela Lout and Carolyn Davis for your devotion and attention to our mother.
