Rev. Billy Joe Word

He loved his family and his service for the Lord. He also had a passion for good food (Coconut Pie) , gardening and woodwork. In his earlier years he worked as a Brick Mason, also worked at the Coca-Cola Company in Houston. He later worked for Merchants Fast Motor Lines receiving serval awards for safe driving for over 30 plus years.

He was ordained as a Baptist Minister in the early 1960's by the Greenwood Village Baptist Church. He later Pastored Sunnyland Baptist Church, Townley Place Baptist Church and Barcly Baptist Church. Also, serving in many more.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Norma Jean Word, daughter; Frances Jones Migdat, granddaughter; Crystal Word, his parents; John and Vinnie Word, brother; J.D Word, and sisters; Dorothy Walker and Mary Hunter, son-in-law; Danny Ringo Sr.

He is survived by his son; Bruce Word, and daughters; Donna Ford (Stan), Debra Ringo, and Beverly Jackson (Tim), sisters; Hazel Rulison, Betty White, Shirley Caldwell, and Melba Woodby (Bill), grandchildren; Denise, Kirk, Dustin, Brandon, Blake, Michelle, Chance, Danielle, Danny Lee, Billy Joe, and Matthew. He is also survived by his 26 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
