Billy Gene Hight was born on August 30, 1931, passed away on October 7, 2014. He proudly served his country for fours years in the United States Army during the Korean War. For over 30 years he was a cabinet maker and owner of The Cabinet Shop; creating custom furniture pieces for architects and designers throughout Houston. In 1991 the American Institute of Architects named him Craftsman of the Year. He also built pieces for his wife’s furniture store, The Contemporary Shop, in Southwest Houston. Later in life, they worked together for a company known as Gulf Coast Fan & Light until retirement. Billy was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nina Hight, on September 7, 2014. He leaves to cherish his memory: children: Beverly Hight Christiansen, Ray Hight & wife Susan, Richard Glenn Hight, Sandra Hight Cunningham & husband Stuart; grandchildren: Tiffany Frangione Jackson & husband Christopher, Amanda Hight Fuller & husband Clay, Andrew Hight, Sara Cunningham, Sam Cunningham; great grandchildren: Garrett & Carlee Hight; along with other loving family & friends.
