Billie Jim Brookshire Walker, 87, passed away on November 27, 2013. She was born on January 18, 1926 to James Preston Brookshire and Era Tom Brookshire in Bronson, Texas. Billie graduated in 1946 as a registered nurse from Breckenridge Nursing School in Austin, Texas. She was a member of Aldine First United Methodist Church.
Billie is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Alvin James Walker, Sr.; her parents; sister, Margaret Newburn; and son-in-law Mark LeGate. She is survived by her children, Teresa Walker and Raymond Skelton from Magnolia, Texas, Alvin J. Walker Jr. and Christine Walker from Crockett, Texas, Gayla Walker LeGate from Phoenix, Arizona and Donald Walker and Kimberly Walker from Polson, Montana; 9 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 5pm to 7pm at Brookside Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 2pm in the Family Chapel of Brookside Funeral Home.
