Beverly Ann [Harris] Coney Weston was born on July 9,1942 in Baton Rouge, LA and passed from this life on September 20, 2020 after a lengthy illness. Beverly was the birth daughter of Wilmer S and Beverly Tucker Harris. She was lovingly raised from infancy as an adored daughter by her uncle and aunt, Cameron B and Katie Harris Coney of Sicily Island, LA. Beverly was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Stephanie Ann, her beloved husband, Johnnie Edward Weston, brother Wilmer Scott Harris and her parents. Left to mourn her passing are her cherished daughters, Merrick Weston (Charles) Smith of Columbia, LA and Stacy Weston (Michael) Brandau of Cypress, TX, loving brother, Dr. William C. (Bill) Coney of Jonesville and sister-in-law, Jimmie Coney, as well as treasured grandchildren, Laura Ashley (Alan) Wilson , Ronald Rex Lofton, Jr., and Weston R. Holyoak and great grandchildren, Addilyn Mae Lofton, Archer James Wilson and John Edward Wilson.
Beverly graduated with honors from Sicily Island High School. She attended Louisiana Tech University and Northeast Louisiana University where she was awarded a MS+30 degree in Psychology and Education. Beverly was an esteemed educator and supervisor with the Louisiana State Department of Education in her career, a devoted wife of 48 years to Johnnie, and mother to Merrick and Stacy, and was beloved by many lifelong friends throughout the state. Hallmarks of her life include her wit and intelligence, a love for travel, and her gift for writing.
Johnnie and Beverly chose to be interred together at Pine Hill Cemetery near Sicily Island following a memorial service for Beverly on October 29, 2020. The memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m. at Sicily Island United Methodist Church in Sicily Island, LA with the interment of their urns to follow at the Pine Hill Cemetery. Brother Jon Lord of Sicily Island United Methodist Church will officiate the service.
