Ms. Beverly Ann Holden

Raised in a Christian home, Beverly accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Holy Temple Church in Seattle, Washington. She truly loved God and welcomed any opportunity to participate in praise, worship, and sing in the choir. Beverly was blessed with the gift of song, so much so that people would travel from far and near to hear her sing.

At the age of 16, a tragedy occurred with the passing of her Mom. As Beverly and her siblings were devastated by their loss, every effort was made to support her younger siblings and keep the family together. Unfortunately, the children were later separated, and Beverly left Seattle and moved to Houston, Texas to live with her Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Banks. She continued her education and graduated from Forest Brook High School in North Forest ISD.

As a single parent of two girls, Jamaric and Shemia, Beverly worked hard to provide a loving home and comfortable life for her daughters. She supported the three of them while working in a nursing home.

Later, Beverly was introduced to a man who wanted to change her last name and he vowed to love, support, and take care of her and her two daughters. After a lengthy courtship, Beverly and Alberto Morgan were married. To this union, God blessed the couple with the son Alberto always wanted, Jermain. This marriage was dissolved after 20 years. Beverly loved her family, and her family loved her. She taught her children to trust in God, love and support one another, and she assured them that they could always call on her at any given time.

Most of Beverly’s employment was in security, she maintained her employment with Securitas Security for 20+ years. Although the company was bought out by several different companies, Beverly was always the number one pick to remain with the company. Her professionalism, integrity, dependability, and commitment are attributes which contributed to her being the best employee for the job.

Beverly was a very proud grandmother, she anxiously awaited the birth of her first grandchild, a beautiful baby girl, Jada Moena. She was thrilled beyond measure about being a grandmother. Now Beverly shopped double time because she wanted to make sure Jada had everything her heart desired. Five years later, a second grandchild was born, a handsome baby boy, Jaden Marquis. Beverly adored her grandchildren, she taught them to trust and obey God, respect their elders, love and support one another, embrace differences, believe in self, and to always do their best.

She never met a stranger, her calm and friendly demeanor and contagious laughter attracted people to her. She would develop relationships that would last a lifetime. Her passion for fashion, adoration of music, and writing poems are some of the ways she spent her free time.

On Friday, June 2, 2023, Beverly heard God’s voice and followed His command. She was surrounded by her children and grandchildren as she peacefully transitioned. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Jamaric Holden and Shemia Holden, of Houston, Texas; son, Jermain Morgan of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Jada Holden and Jaden Tippins of Houston, Texas; sisters: Carolynn Jackson of Seattle, Washington, Jackie Barnes of Houston, Texas, and Terry Hicks of Seattle, Washington; brother, Kevin Downs of Houston, Texas; nieces, Takesha Jackson and Marshaila Tyler of Seattle, Washington, and Leindra Tai of Houston, Texas; nephews: Michael Jackson, Steven Dozier, and Jonathan Jackson of Seattle, Washington; and a host of other relatives, and friends.

Those who preceded her in death are her parents, Leona Jackson and Curtis Holden; and her sister, Shelia Dozier.
