Betty Jean Roberson

Betty Robertson was born on January. They would later move to Houston 5, to parents L.C. Powers and Oralean Holmes-Powers in Calvert, Texas where Betty attended Booker T. Washington High School. She retired from the City of Houston in 2001, after working for more than twenty years.

As a young age, she accepted Christ and became a member of Damascus Missionary Baptist Church in the 6th Ward area of Houston, Texas. In her latter years she became a member of Bella Vista Missionary Baptist Church in Studewood, Houston, Texas; and soon after that, Highland Home Baptist Church in North Houston. Where she served as an Usher.

Betty gave birth to one son in 1958 and married Ralph Roberson in 1961. From this union, she gave birth to one daughter.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, L.C. and Oralean Powers; brothers, Charlie, John, Seguin Powers and sister; Florence French. She leaves to carry on her memories, siblings; Ozell Walls, Raymond Powers and Yolanda Hill. Children; Ronnie Powers and Andrea Roberson; granddaughters Shalonda Roberson and Adrienne Rawls (2 great grandchildren) and host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A visitation for Betty will be held Friday, July 12, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Carl Barnes Funeral Home, 746 W. 22nd Street, Houston, TX 77008. A funeral service will occur Friday, July 12, 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, 746 W. 22nd Street, Houston, TX 77008. A committal will occur Friday, July 12, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM at Paradise Funeral Home & Cemetery North, 10401 W Montgomery Rd, Houston, TX 77088.
