Betty worked as a Medical Transcriber at Baylor College of Medicine and as a Medical Secretary at Carrier Foundation Hospital, Joseph A. Jachimczyk Forensic Center, and M. D. Anderson Hospital over a 14 year period.
Betty was a published author of her book My Favorite Forts in January 2014.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Roland Lynn Newberry and son, Ernest Stephen Newberry.
She is survived by sons, Roland Lynn Newberry, Jr., Leslie D. Newberry and Wesley G. Newberry and grandchildren Lisa Newberry and Kelley Newberry.
Family will receive friends and family Sunday, December 28, 2014 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm, Earthman Funeral Directors at Hunters Creek, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024.
Graveside service will be on Monday, December 29, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas 77060.
