Ann was born on August 14, 1943 to Robert Shofner and Marie (Hoffman) Shofner. Her brother Robert Jr. (Bob) was born 21 months later. In 1947 the family moved to the Lindale area.
Ann attended Thomas Jefferson Elementary. Later she and Bob attended Hogg Junior High in the Heights area. After two years attending Reagan High School, the family moved to Oak Forrest, where she and Bob both graduated from Waltrip High School. Everyone thought it was strange that two people with the unique last name of Shofner never seemed to acknowledge knowing each other. It got much better after high school.
Ann played piano and clarinet in the junior high marching band. At Waltrip, she was a sponsor for the ROTC unit. Anything to get out of physical education classes!
All her teen years she was a dancer, mainly tap. She appeared on many TV talent shows and performed for troops with the USO.
Life long friends and fellow dancers include: Janelle, Jo Cheryl, Doris, Janis.
Ann had a long, interesting, and eventful career serving as an admin and partner with several business ventures (with Andy Andros and Russell Denson) in Houston, Miami, and Kansas City. Incredibly hard working, organized, efficient, and loyal.
Survivors include her brother Bob, almost sister Judy, and step daughters: Diana, Jennifer, Sally, and Patty. Relatives who will miss Auntie Ann include: Pam, Julie, Joanna, Ava, Egan, and Taryn. Ann was preceded in death by her husband of almost 11 years, Bill Jacob.
Special thanks to long time friend Rosemary.
And extra, extra special thanks go to care giver and near daughter Denise.
Donations would be greatly appreciated for St. Basil the Great Greek Orthodox Church
