Betty Jo Gatlin, age 90, of Conroe, Texas passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. Betty was born July 17, 1932. Due to her father's early death, she and her sisters went to live at the Waco State Home. She attended and graduated from high school while living there. These were years that were full of good memories and she attended annual reunions in Waco, Texas until her health no longer allowed her to make the trip. She attended a business school in Waco and then moved to Houston where she worked at Dunn and Bradstreet in a secretarial position. She married Richard Gatlin in 1954 and became a housewife and mother. She was a seamstress for many years, working out of her home. She and her husband sang in their church choir and this was something she loved dearly. She loved to sing and listen to gospel music. After she moved to Conroe, she became a member of Mims Baptist Church of Conroe, Texas. She also enjoyed bingo and eating out with her friends.
Special thanks to Alamo Hospice, and the people at Cura Assisted Living, especially Crystal Dornak.
