Betty Lou Ferguson

Betty Lou Ferguson was born on February 11,1931 in Houston, Texas. She was the fifth of six children born to Lilly Irene Cox Frame and Miles Trannie Frame. It is with great sadness that we announce her passing on February 12, 2021. She had just celebrated her 90th birthday with her beloved son, Michael Ferguson and his wife, Carol.

Betty attended John H. Reagan High School in The Heights, where she was an active member of the Reagan Redcoats Drill Team and awarded membership in the National Honor Society. Soon after graduation, Betty began her life-long career with Gulf Oil Corporation.

She married her long-time sweetheart, Austin Ferguson, in April 1956. They shared an enduring love affair, the kind of love many dream of. They welcomed their son, Michael, in May of 1957. His birth was the only time she took leave from her adored Gulf Oil. Michael was the center of her world.

Betty Lou was a true Southern Lady and a devoted mother and wife. She was a romantic at heart and enjoyed her novels and Hallmark movies. Austin’s taking care of her every need and desire fulfilled of her dreams. She lost Austin in February of 2020 and missed him with every minute that passed. They are now reunited in God’s glorious Kingdom, along with her parents, Irene and Miles Frame; her brothers, Bill Frame and Doug Frame; and sisters, Marguerite Weiss, Wilma King, and Carolyn Cravens.

A Celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 11:30am at Forest Park Westheimer Mausoleum Chapel, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas 77077. Reverend Bill Cole, Officiating. Entombment will immediately follow the service at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
