Lou Johnson Scarborough, age 87, of Houston, TX passed peacefully into the loving embrace of Jesus and all the loved ones gone before her on Thursday, May 17, 2018. Born on January 23, 1931 near Turkey, TX to Clifford and Bess Johnson.
She graduated from high school in Silverton, TX and attended Elliot Business College. In Lou’s early career days, she worked in the oil and gas industry and hotel management. She later began a career in real estate and her business spanned areas from Cleburne, TX and Houston to creating her own company Midway Properties in the Bridgeport, TX area. This personal determination and success as a business woman was an inspiration to all. But all agree that her greatest “careers” were those of devoted Wife, loving Mother, Granny Lou, Sister, Cousin, Aunt, Friend. Those “careers” spanned her lifetime and were her greatest joys.
The family would like to thank her doctors and hospice team from Memorial Hermann Medical Center and her compassionate caregivers Rosalind and Jeannie who watched over her in her home her last days.
Preceded in death by her Father and Mother – Clifford and Bess Johnson, her beloved husband Ben Scarborough, her dear Son – Bill Johnston, her Daughters - Candy Crenwelge and Liz Matthews, and her Grandson - Seth Scarborough. She is survived by her Children - Lucy Scarborough Harrington (Lonnie), Susie Scarborough, Ben Scarborough (Karen), and Carlene Watassek; her Brother – David Johnson; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a large host of friends.
