Bernice Dickey

Our beloved matriarch, Bernice Gladys Dickey passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the age of 96 years, in Houston, Texas. Bernice led a long and spectacular life and met a friend wherever she went. Her sharp wit, laughter, and beautiful smile was contagious and lit up every room. Bernice had a huge heart, an amazing spirit, and a zest for life that will live on in all who crossed her path.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Abraham and Annie Simons; brother, William Simons; and her devoted husband, Philip Dickey. Bernice leaves behind her daughter, Nancy Di Censo and husband, Domenic; son Jason Dickey and wife, Gina; grandchildren, William Di Censo and wife, Sarah; Nicholas Di Censo; Dayna Allen and husband, Caleb; Nicole McDaniel and husband, Nicholas; Samantha Dickey; Luci Rodriguez and wife, Leesa; great granddaughters Clara and Rachel Allen; nephew Jonathan Simons and wife, Lily; cousins and numerous loved ones.

Bernice’s family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at the Heritage at Eldridge and the nursing staff with the Star of Texas Hospice who took great care of her in the final days of her life.
