Apolonia G. Martinez, 90, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024, in Tomball, Texas. Apolonia known most as Pola, was born in Mercedes, Texas to Francisco Gonzales and Maria De Refugio Hinojosa on August 30, 1934.
Apolonia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Felix Martinez.
Apolonia Martinez is survived by her children, Maria Martinez Shelton (Craig), Rene G. Martinez (Maricela), Carlos Martinez (Christina), and brothers Themis Gonzalez and Odon Palmenez (Marisela).
Grandchildren: Yvonne Robles (Estevan Garcia), Anthony Jacob Martinez (Paula Saldana), Matthew Martinez (Angel Frias), Anthony Jacob Martinez (Paula Saldana), Yvette Martinez (Ana Martinez), and Danielle Martinez.
Great-Grandchildren: Breana A Garcia (Jose Cuellar).
Great-great-grandchildren: Baby Azariah, Calista A Garcia, Julian E. Garcia, Nathaniel L. Garcia, Nicholas K. Garcia, Wilfredo Salgado, Allison Salgado, Celeste Salgado, Mariah Salgado, Melanie Martinez, Carlos Jr. Martinez, and Adrian Martinez.
At a young age Apolonia had to give up her education to provide for her family. Working in Quincy Washington.
On May 3, 1962, she married Felix Martinez a (Baker by trade), they were Married for 60 years.
Apolonia was a dedicated homemaker. She loved gardening, cooking, camping, traveling, dancing, going to the beach, and most of all, she loved taking care of her family. She was her happiest when her growing family would get together, anything involving her children, and grandchildren. She was a loving and caring mother, wife, grandmother, a compassionate and loving person always willing to help others. She particularly loved animals and took care of her family dogs and would even take care of stray dogs.
It is because of her kindness and love that she had for her family that she will be dearly missed by her family and everyone who knew and loved her.

A visitation for Apolonia will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, October 9, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A committal service will occur Wednesday, October 9, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
