Annie Mae Swayze was born on September 5, 1923 by Thomas and Willie Swayze In Cuero, Texas. Annie grew up In the small town of Cuero until she graduated from Cuero High School In 1941. She then moved to Houston, Texas where she joined the efforts of World War II at Ellington Air Force Base. In 1944 she met Harvey Ivan Prove. In October of 1944, one month after her 21st birthday, they were married where Annie took on the name Annie Mae Prove. From September of 1948 Annie gave birth to her first child and from then on I remember my mother dedicating her all In the support of her 5 children which were;
• Charlotte Prove
• Glenn Prove
• Robert Prove
• Sharon Prove
• Larry Prove
Her greatest pasttime between working, homemaking, and raising her children was the joy of planting a vegetable garden and watching it grow. She also loved to drive all over the US and just take In the sights and American History.
Once her husband Harvey passed away she moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado to work with her son Larry. Larry had built the second largest ceiling company In Colorado and was In desperate need of a technical clerical person to manage all of his company records, payroll, billings and taxes. Our mother was perfect for the position plus Larry sometimes needed a swift kick to keep him plumbed up and all of the kids knew that our mom could do that very well! Our mom worked with Larry until she was about 85 years old.
In 2011 our mom moved back to stay with her daughter Sharon. Needing some additional care, In 2012 Annie moved Into Park Manor retirement home In Tomball, Texas where she met other friends until she passed on to be with family above. Annie will always be remembered by all of her 5 Children, 7 Grandchildren, and 6 Great Grandchildren.
We will never say goodbye to this great lady, but just "We Love You and See Ya Later!"
