Angelita S. Mendoza found rest with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 18, 2023 at the age of 87. Mrs. Mendoza was born on February 21, 1936 to Enrique Sanchez and Leocadia Paez in El Rancho Colorado near Driscoll, Texas. She moved to Houston in 1962 where she spent the remainder of her years with the love of her life, her husband Isidoro Mendoza, and their six children. Angelita lived a life of service, having worked many years as a nurse and having volunteered many years in her local church. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and grandmother. Her love was unconditional.
Angelita is preceded in death by her parents Enrique Sanchez and Leocadia Paez; her brothers Enriquito Sanchez Jr. and Jose Sanchez; her sisters Ramona Gorostiza, Sofia Vela, Candelaria Piña, Maria Lopez, Eduarda Rodriguez, and Irma Rodriguez.
Angelita is survived by her husband Isidoro, children Greg (Adelina), Melinda (Tony), Norma (Rufino), Eddie (Linda), Stephen, and Cynthia (Jason); sisters Estela Morin (Arnoldo), Elvira Rodriguez (Manuel) and Irene Guffey, and brother Arturo Sanchez (Gladys).
A visitation for Angelita will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Heights Funeral Home, 1317 Heights Blvd, Houston, Texas 77008. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM. Funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 1111 St Joseph Pkwy, Houston, Texas 77002. Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery.
